The Bren light machinegun was the main british light machinegun of WWII. It is an open belt, magazine fed machinegun. It fires the .303 British cartridge which was the standard rifle cartridge of the british in WWII. It has an odd looking top loading 30 round magazine which made it wonderfully easy to load when firing from the prone. The sights are off to one side so you can see around the magazine. It was one of the most, if not THE most modern light machineguns of WWII.
